ALBUM: VOLUME III
REVIEWED BY: PAIGE TURNER

Volume III is an odyssey wrapped in raw, unfiltered music and dives deep into existential questions, moral ambiguity, and the human condition, offering listeners a thought-provoking experience.
The album challenges conventional notions of right and wrong, love and loss, and the pursuit of meaning. Tracks like "Right or Wrong" grapple with the fluidity of morality, emphasizing that “No one is wrong, no one is right”. This refrain encapsulates the album’s central theme: life is a complex tapestry of contradictions, and understanding comes from embracing them rather than seeking absolute truths.
"Operation" promotes breaking away from conformity: Phrases like "Severed from the common thread" and "For common ways exist today, it seems so plain" emphasize the desire to break free from societal norms and embrace the breadth of the human experience. "Lawless" delves into the nature of prosperous human conduct in an alternate realm where there are no laws and anybody can harm anybody without consequence. The song raises awareness that it's a mindset that sets us apart from wild animals. The poignant line, “It’s not with your eyes that you will see it,” suggests that deeper truths are found through introspection and spiritual awareness rather than surface-level observation.
The album also critiques materialism and societal greed in "On It" and "O.Y.S.", urging listeners to reject superficial values and focus on inner growth & balance. The call to “Own Your Soul” is a powerful reminder of the importance of self-awareness and authenticity in a world dominated by external pressures. "Nameless" centers on themes of love, connection, and the transcendence of life's challenges through unity and beauty. "Every Crow Eyes" conveys a message of resilience, urging listeners to confront life's challenges, recognize the power of perception, and embrace the process of letting go to find peace and progress.
Raw Zero’s exploration of resilience and transformation is evident in the album opening track "Forward" as well as "Vehicle". These tracks reflect on the inevitability of pain and loss, framing them as catalysts for growth and renewal. The imagery of blood, fire, and water throughout the album symbolizes the cyclical nature of life and the constant interplay between destruction and creation.
The album closer "Endless", is a call-to-action for "soulful women" and "soulful men" to "bring it home" emphasizing the need for individuals to step up, take responsibility, and create meaningful change. The closing line, "You could be the one", leaves the listener with a sense of hope and empowerment, suggesting that anyone has the potential to make a difference.
Musically, the album’s raw production mirrors its depth, creating an intimate and unpolished soundscape that feels deeply personal. The lyrics are poetic and evocative, inviting listeners to reflect on their own beliefs and experiences.
Volume III is more than an album; it’s an exploration of life’s complexities. Raw Zero’s ability to weave profound ideas into his music makes this record a compelling listen for those seeking art that challenges, inspires, and resonates deeply.
